After a week of weirdness, delays and frustration in our lives, I'm back online (after 6 days of no internet. A shout out to our FANTASTIC Frontier serviceman that fixed our internet and came out late Friday afternoon after we called his personal cell phone out of frustration with the Frontier) a electrical fix on our septic,( a shout out to Bosch Electric for amazing, FAST, customer service and fixing us all better) a 47th birthday for me, (in bed by 8:00 pm fast asleep with not even cake)!
I'm back in business in the kitchen and getting ready for parties. It was mostly all inconveniences and a reminder on perspective in our lives. Thankful and grateful for ALL things we are blessed with, health, family, and all things that really are temporary.
Homemade cheese is on the menu tonight. I'm super excited to teach a group of young ladies next week how to make a South of the border meal from scratch, including fresh cheese.
The body attached to these feet have had a rather irritating week. Some big things that we use all day, everyday decided to break. No septic. No phone. No internet. Broken mower. It's amazing how much we rely on these things and how much we take them for granted until they are gone.
I know that these things are all silly and thankfully they've already been fixed after 6 days of frustration. These little trials which seem huge when your going through them help put things in a eternal AND good health perspective, to be grateful and enjoy each day that God gives us and with what he graciously bestows on us.
No fancy food for me, just Girl Scout cookies a little bit of wine and slinging the push mower in my slides to make me feel better.
Tomorrow is a new and better day I hope.
These boys are waiting patiently for crumbs to drop on the ground.
And I am waiting patiently for my garden to grow that I planted while contemplating the outcome of me trying to use chainsaw to cut down a few trees for project....
"Kary Marshman is a wonderful teacher and real chef! It was easy, relaxed atmosphere with teaching, fun and great food. I myself picked a few good tricks and learned some great techniques! I only wish to attend one of her classes on Chinese food, because she is real pro!!!
Beautiful spacious kitchen with so many gadgets you could only imagine. I was only watching but had so much fun.
Kary you are amazing, you have a talent and big heart! People who have a privilege to know you are truly blessed!!! -N.K. "
After celebrating a special 12 year old birthday at Flour Pot today, family randomly showed up for an impromptu dinner. We pulled out the paper plates and shared a lovely meal.
Words that come to mind from those gathered around the table at our random family gathering:
happy, laughter, good food, memories, BBQ, conversation, laughter, food, funny, spontaneous, cowboy charcoal, rib eye steaks, wisdom teeth, dishes, more dishes, family forever, Wish we had more days like this.
I had the privileged to host a second birthday party for Maggie! This time the girls showed up to enjoy a wonderful meal chosen by Maggie and prepared by me. Hand made pasta, creamy bolognese with homemade rustic bread.
A big Ol' slice of decadent, chocolate cream pie for each of the girls piled with fresh whipped cream.
Happy Birthday Maggie- Thank you for choosing Flour Pot Kitchen to celebrate your birthday with your friends. Such a treat for me to serve you all!
Thankful for the 100's of guests that have walked through the doors at Flour Pot Kitchen to celebrate with friends and loved ones, prepare a delicious meal and have conversation around our farm table.
I LOVE my job, getting to celebrate a be apart of so many lives in such an intimate way. Thank you, thank you.
Pasta, prawns and lemons were on the menu to celebrate a birthday.
It's been A while since we've had donut day. Which will also be double gym time today.
Hoping these donuts make up for the tater tot casserole with Italian sausage shredded cabbage carrots and green beans cleanoutmyfreezer dinner I made for tonight.
Chocolate, vanilla and strawberry-blueberry. Almost like a fruit salad.
These girls read the directions in unison, sliced, diced, fried, learned new things, tried new foods and had a great time celebrating Eden!
Thank you Jamie and Eden for choosing Flour Pot Kitchen for your birthday party, you all were a delight to host.

My new garden is taking shape. I built three raised beds, planted 5 new fruit trees and moved 5 ginormous blueberry bushes.
Thankful for the glorious warm sunshine on this 9th day of February!
