Always such a pleasure creating a warm environment for those to enjoy. This was the second time getting to be able to host a small group who gather to read scripture, and be artists in their bibles.
The ladies arrive at 9:30 with coffee, blueberry biscuits, frittatas, and fresh fruit. They then get right to work.
While the ladies are busy being creative, I'm busy in the kitchen preparing the homemade lunch for them to enjoy.
A pretty awesome day.
Ready, set, prepped and awaiting the arrival of our guests for the evening. We love to set pretty tables for our guests to enjoy their meal at.
Candles are always lit. Why? Well because candles create a beautiful mood. A sense of coziness and warmth. We belive the dinner table should be used everyday. To gather. To communicate.
People share their hearts
Stories are told.
Tears sometimes are shed.
When we sit, we eat slower and we can enjoy those who gather with us around the table.
It's all beautiful.
Prep for classes begins days before, and continues until guests walk through the door. Recipe testing, shopping, often at several stores to find the perfect ingredients. Making fresh bread the day of a class. Sometimes I need to make a "swap out" if the recipe requires a long marinade or chilling time. Cleaning, typing, editing, setting up, cleaning dishes, setting the table.
These Cypress sea salt tomatoes will be a perfect addition to our cast iron frittata once roasted and caramelized. I prepped them before the class arrived to let the flavors absorb in the tomatoes. I tell the kids they taste like candy. I can get them to try new flavors and textures you the parents can't. Some how it just works when they are in class.
